Activities of Daily Living
ADLs (activities of daily living) are daily tasks that most people can perform without assistance. Personal hygiene (bathing, grooming, and oral care), clothing, eating, toileting, continence, and transferring
and/or ambulation are some of the
most basic ADLs.

These activities can be performed with the help of the care providers we offer. Serene Home Care is here to help take care of you and your loved ones.
Bathing & Showering
Bathing and showering helps our clients feel relaxed, refreshed, healthy, and positive about their appearance. Bathing and showering are important parts of in-home care for our clients, and the care providers we refer can assist with getting in and out of the shower or tub, help with physically bathing, washing, cleaning, toweling, and preparing to leave the bathroom.
Toileting
Serene Home Care appreciates that compassion and sensitivity are of utmost importance when it comes to assistance with toileting. The care providers we refer will help the client safely get on and off the toilet, as well as any other help that is needed.
Incontinence Care
The care provider we recommend can help you or a loved one with incontinence care in a discreet and caring manner, including assistance with ostomy care and urinary drainage bags.
Personal Hygiene
Care providers that assist with Personal Hygiene services are generally helping you or your loved one with important daily hygienic activities such as oral care, hair care, shaving, applying lotion, nail care and filing nails. In the event of a diabetic client, a CNA/HHA, or RN is necessary for nail care.

Dressing
For a number of physical reasons, some clients need help getting dressed. This service includes wardrobe selection as well as physical assistance with getting dressed.
Eating and feeding
Tube feeding (RNs or LPNs only), hand feeding, or utensil help are all options for feeding assistance.
All of the caregivers we have been trained on how to assist clients in feeding themselves, and while it may be difficult to accept at first, our compassionate approach can transform meals into a pleasant social activity.
Transfers and Positioning
The caregivers we offer have been trained to move and place clients in the correct postures and positions to promote health, safety, and appropriate functioning of the body's multiple systems. Transferring and situating into beds and seats correctly helps to remove pressure points on the skin, reduce muscular weakness and stiffness, and encourage appropriate breathing, digestion, and evacuation. The caregivers we offer have also been trained to assist clients in safely transferring into and out of wheelchairs.
Ambulation (Walking)
For various reasons, some clients require mobility help. Any of the Personal Care providers we offer can serve clients with mobility and varied activities in order to encourage a healthy and active lifestyle. Physical assistance with mobility may be provided, as well as a more hands-off observation to ensure the client's safety.
Range of Motion
Assistance
Maintaining good functioning of all of the body's systems necessitates keeping our bodies moving; nevertheless, mobility and range of motion activities can be difficult as we age, especially if we have specific physical conditions or handicaps. The caregivers we offer can help you or a loved one with both passive and active range of motion exercises to improve circulation and muscle activation.
Diabetic Care
People living with diabetes require a special kind of care to ensure their safety and health. Any of the Personal Care care providers we refer can aid with diabetic precautions during care, including skin and nail care, bathing, medication assistance, diet monitoring and light exercise or range of motion activities.
Record Health Data
When people are coping with complex health concerns or the aging process in general, it's critical to keep track of their health data in order to track any progress or regression and adjust therapy accordingly. We can assign you to a care provider who can help you keep track of your health data, such as vital signs, intake and output, and client weight.
